When South played spade9 West could not afford a diamond and came down to clubQ96. Now it was dummy's turn to be pressured and a club was thrown too. To avoid conceding the tenth trick East can either exit in either minor suit, destroying communications for the squeeze. When a heart was selected West was squeezed when South ruffed.
