Quite right too, but that didn't seem to occur to either of the declarers!! One played low from hand and now he hand no sure entry to his diamond winner. If he played diamondK before drawing all the trumps then West would be able to ruff a heart.

In the other room North made an equally culpable error. He correctly rose with heartA and was in a position to draw all the trumps and play diamondK. Now heartK would still be there as an entry to diamondQ - the tenth winner. However when East showed out on the first round of trumps North played a diamond. East won and smacked heartQ on the table. West ruffed dummy's king and returned a club for East to cash heartJ. Two off in a 100% contract, so there must be hope for us all.
