At the table West made another bad decision, this time fatal, when he switched to a low spade. Declarer won in hand with the nine, finessed spade8 and cashed dummy's two diamond winners throwing hearts from hand. When heartK was played from dummy East was left on lead - completely powerless to prevent South making the king, ace and jack of spades separately. 2spade doubled made for 670 to North-South. Almost any other defence would have beaten 2spade.
