South guessed incorrectly and was one light - minus 100.

In the other room North became declarer in 4heart and East led a diamond. The play continued in similar vein to the first table, except that the timing was right for South to ruff three clubs in dummy without trouble. Eventually the thirteenth spade was led from dummy and West was forced to ruff to prevent North's last club disappearing and leave East on lead. Now it was trivial for North to make a tenth trick from heartQ10. + 590
