In 6 declarer was taking a chance by cashing two top spades - South might have had a singleton. Nevertheless, it was an elegant line, don't you think?
Another slight variation that occurred to me as I reread the text . . . .
Proceed as before but, on winning the A in dummy, ruff a heart in hand, cross to
K and ruff dummy's last heart. Now exit with a trump. North is endplayed into leading a pointed suit or conceding a ruff and discard.
