Surprisingly, very few North players led club10 to this contract. Several Norths, some of whom had not had the benefit of a diamond overcall from their partner, led diamond2. After this start there was no way back to the South hand for a club ruff, and 4spade came home.

The thinking Norths led diamondK. When that held they could switch to their singleton club, eventually come in with spadeQ, and put South in with diamondA for a club ruff. N-S + 100. At another table East played in 5club ..
