After ruffing high at trick two you cash clubQ to see both opponents follow, so you lead a diamond to the ace at trick three and ruff a diamond, South playing the king. Now you cross to clubA and ruff another diamond to see South obligingly drop diamondQ. You still have an entry in club9 to get to dummy's winning red jacks, giving you twelve tricks in all.

All that is required on this hand is to handle the clubs carefully so that you retain two entries after having ruffed a diamond in hand. When this deal occurred at a small club it proved vital to find this overtrick - many pairs missed 3NT and a twelfth trick gave East-West a 65% board.
