One declarer played a spade to the ten, won the diamond return and then continued spades with ace and another - unlucky! Another East played a club to the nine at trick two and was struggling thereafter.

It's an awkward hand because after the hearts have been cashed, dummy is devoid of guaranteed entries. One decent line is a club to the king. If that loses then at least that's an entry from the South hand out of the way, but he may even duck when holding the ace! When South takes clubA you can duck the next diamond and eventually play clubs twice towards dummy to give yourself an excellent chance.
