The defence was perfect. North led diamondJ and again South overtook, but this time South was able to switch to a spade and the ruff defeated the slam.

I must apologise for the about the sneaky deception on page one, but sometimes it really is better to play in the shorter trump fit .. it's just that this wasn't one of them. Look out for a genuine example in the near future.
