South judged the situation perfectly by leaping to 6NT. It was absolutely idiot proof - even I might have made it. What do you think of the bidding of the respective Easts? Although he didn't use it, East in the first room even had the luxury of bidding 5club for a lead with the intention of reverting to 5heart when doubled. In the second room East had a much more difficult job - it's really tough to sacrifice with an outside ace and spadeQxxx sitting over North's spades. I reckon West must take most of the blame - he should been getting busy from right from the beginning.
