At the table South played low!!!!! After the ten won in dummy, East ditched a diamond on dummy's heartK and continued with heartJ for a ruffing finesse. After ruffing North's queen, a club ruff in dummy passed off peacefully and another diamond went on heart10. By ruffing a heart and cutting adrift with his last diamond, East eventually came to nine tricks.

South's initial lead had not been fatal, but what about that club7!?!
