I was playing at our Wednesday evening club night at Worthing BC with Avril, for only the second time. After the first half dozen boards I had averaged about 15 HCP a hand and declared most of the contracts, so when I picked up this miserable collection as South I was looking forward to a few minutes on autopilot. Not so! Avril saw only 3 losers in her hand and decided that whatever I had, we were going for a slam. I then realised that I had to play the hand again!
