After winning spadeK, for West to continue with ace and another spade would allow declarer to cash clubAK and exit with diamondK, so West tried a low spade. South won and played diamondK, won by East who led a club. Declarer rose with ace and end-played West with a third round of spades, so South took the last two tricks with clubKJ.

Would South have taken the club finesse if West had continued in tempo with a diamond at trick two? We'll never know.
