South cashed a high trump and, knowing that West would drop heartQ from any holding, ruffed a fourth round of hearts with a high spade and was relieved to see both defenders following. He then crossed to diamondA, ruffed a diamond, went back to dummy with the other spade (no queen appearing but both defenders following) and ruffed another diamond as West pitched a club. It was now down to three cards each.
