spadeA is the real winner. You'll have to continue with another spade but after this opening South cannot quite bring home his contract. After ruffing and cashing clubAKQ he then switches attention to diamonds by playing ace and another, but you win and continue the force with a third spade. After South cashes two diamonds you ruff the last one and lead a heart to East who cashes the last spade.

When the hand was played originally there was a heart lead. Declarer followed the above line but because his trump shad not been shortened he was always a tempo ahead. East-West scored nil points.
