From the bidding you can tell that partner will have fewer diamonds than a player who has a diamond void. In this case isn't he likely to make a Lightner double to ask for an unusual lead against 7spade? If this happens there is a distinct danger that North or South may convert to 7NT - after all you know that South has heartA. 7NT may prove to be absolutely rigid, so to prevent West from making a double of 7spade you must double it yourself! Of course there is still the possibility that that North or South may convert to 7NT, but they may not discern your "cunning plan".
