When South cashes heartQ West is forced to shed a club and is then thrown in with clubQ to lead a spade.

Can declarer make by the alternatove line of passing the spade at trick two? I'll let you work that one out.

29/03/2026: I notice that the DDA (see page 4) says that 3NT cannot be made against best defence. I wonder what would have happened had East ducked two rounds of hearts? South's communications are damaged.
