Today I am going to offer you an apology - or maybe I could call it an excuse. I know that many of you would like to see more bidding problems on the site, together with an absorbing discussion about the relative merits of the various alternatives. Unfortunately there is a major drawback with each of the obvious solutions.
a) My notoriously dreadful bidding does not qualify me to act as a judge and jury.
b) The supplied answers to bidding problems are far more contentious than play problems, and what seems like an ideal choice to player A can appear madness to player B. To do the job properly would mean canvassing/coercing several expert-victims, sending out the questions, analysing the replies and plugging them into the standard 7NoTrumps.com format. Until I can afford to stop working (you can facilitate this by sending me loads of cash), time is something I don't have, but more bidding orientated problems remains a serious objective.
