Today's deal, which comes from the Canadian National Championship, is all about having a little joke or three .... highly appropriate on All Fools Day.

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm unsure whether this is a peculiarly British tradition. All Fools Day, April 1^st, is when we play silly practical jokes - but they must be made before midday. You know the sort of thing - ruff partner's winners, go down in a solid one, underlead AKQJ1092 when the opponents are in 3NT - that sort of thing. My team-mates say that I don't need All Fools Day - I do it all the time anyway.
