East had shown the minors so South placed her with a) heart shortage b) diamondQ on the opening lead. Accordingly she rose with dummy's diamondK dropping the jack from hand, crossed to spadeA and led a low heart. Now be honest, what would you have done in West's position? It must have seemed very likely that declarer had spadeK, probably diamondQ, so maybe East had singleton heartA?

Whatever tortured thoughts passed through West's mind she eventually played low, so declarer drew trumps and eventually finessed against East's diamondQ for the contract and a top score.
