This is one of those contracts where the play looks all too obvious in problem form, but it would be a careful player who found it at the table. All that is required is to play the clubs for five tricks, and that is best achieved by crossing to dummy with K and leading a small club towards hand. When North turns up with singleton queen you can win, cash J and finesse against South's ten. So simple. So easy to miss.

Of course, if you cashed A at trick two then you too are safe from having to make grovelling apologies to your team-mates.
