Tired Old Formula of Brilliance And Mastery

We are always reading in bridge columns about the extraordinary feats of declarer and defenders who scale the pinnacles of technique, imagination and daring. You know the sort of thing I mean - West leads heart4 from heartAKQJ1098764 to put his partner in with the singleton five, thus obtaining a ruff and finding the only defence to beat 6spade and secure the Bermuda Bowl by 1 IMP.

But what about the other side of the coin? West leads heart4 from heartAKQJ1098764 to let declarer make 1NT with an overtrick, thus losing the 'C' final of the Lower Hambleton Swiss Teams by 182 IMPs. Well, that's enough about me, so I suppose we'd better stick to the tired old formula of brilliance and mastery.
