If ever there was a clue not to lead diamondA then South's comment was it. A spade stands out, doesn't it? Any ruffing values in the North hand can be quickly snuffed out and you can punish South for his undisciplined bidding. A small spade is possibly best, and even if South plays spadeJ from dummy and leads heart10 the defence will always come to at least four tricks. The alternative of a high spade at trick one also works well.
