Willie ruffed the second spade and cashed diamondK, diamondA only to see East show out on the ace. Without a flicker of emotion he put clubQ on the table and, when that held, led a low club ..... you can guess what happened.

It's easy to criticise East for his naivety in ducking, but this was just a typical example of Willie's appreciation of how to give an opponent a problem where none existed.
