West has nine black cards and two hearts. The safest way to proceed is to cash diamondA and lead your last heart. If West follows then his diamond was a singleton so you can afford to rise with heartA and lead a diamond towards the queen with the happy knowledge that it will win if East ducks.

At the table declarer continued with a third heart and finessed again! East won heartK and switched todiamondJ. Although diamondQ won there was still diamond9 to lose. Top marks to East for his daring play.
