Double dummy analyser: makeable contracts

Pass Pass Pass
. . . West decided to lurk by passing over 1spade. This ended the bidding and although the contract was somewhat low-key, the defence was not without interest. West led a low diamond and East's eight forced the ace. West ducked two rounds of hearts, won the third, and was forced to lead a trump to prevent dummy's spade8 ruffing declarer's last heart. Declarer was in danger of losing the rest of the tricks, but she wisely put clubA on the table. This forced West to ruff and South won able to take one more trump trick. 1spade minus two.
