Mike Mahoney produced a game swing with a virtuoso performance. He won heartA and, after a successful club finesse, ruffed a club with spade9. Rather than play trumps, declarer played three rounds of diamonds to put North on lead again. The heart continuation was ruffed in hand and a small trump played. North rose with the ace and exited with club9, West ruffing again. Down to three cards, declarer brilliantly divined the exact layout by exiting with spade6 to end-play North in trumps.
