Double dummy analyser: makeable contracts
. . . South did not find the spade lead and chose a club instead. That should have meant success for declarer. He should win the lead in hand, cash clubQ and cross to dummy's diamondA. After three top hearts and two more winning clubs, North is fixed. Whether he ruffs or discards, declarer's fifth spade loser goes away! Unfortunately this declarer was also not up to the job and a flat board of East-West minus 100 was the result.
