. . . he was absolutely right in this assumption - for his partner passed!!!!! Maybe this particular sequence had not been discussed, but if transfers are part of a partnership's system it seems sensible to treat all bids after any natural bid of 1NT in the same way as over an opening 1NT.

Anyway, 2diamond became the final contract and North kicked off with the spadeA on which South ditched heart3. North now leads club7, so take it from here.
