Declarer runs his trumps until he reaches the displayed ending. When he cashes club7 and throws a spade from dummy, what does East throw? A diamond would immediately allow South an extra two tricks, so imagine she throws a spade. Declarer now cashes spadeA, dropping East's king, and crosses to diamondA. spadeQ from dummy now squeezes East again! This repeating squeeze has gained the required extra two tricks. OK, I hear you say, what if East was to throw a heart on the last club?
