. After 3 from partner I naturally reverted to 3NT to show, by implication, four spades. The trouble was that partner, quite justifiably, thought I had Baronned not Staymanned, and therefore I had denied four spades. Such is the world of an occasional partnership - fraught with danger - particularly if I am involved. Just imagine that my partner had divined my intention of showing four spades and converted 3NT to 4. How would you play on a low diamond lead?
