At the table West liked his diamond suit and promoted his hand to one worthy of a 2NT (20-22) opener - not the greatest crime you'll ever see at the bridge table. East could barely judge to pass, even at this mode of scoring where it is not so crucial to bid thin games, and raised to 3NT.

North leads spade3, and you insert the ten hopefully, only to see it covered by the jack. Over to you.
