Why not duck completely at trick one - low from dummy and hand?! East cannot play spadeK if you play low from dummy and you will have successfully retained the club finesse option until the end-game.

Why is that so vital? Actually it's not so much as to retain finesse possibilities but more to keep the vital entry for a minor suit squeeze on West. With ten minor cards West is likely to hold both minor suit kings
