The best line is to win and draw two rounds of trumps ending in hand. Now lead a diamond to give West an insoluble problem. If he rises with diamondA then you have twelve tricks, whereas if he plays low then you can win diamondK and discard your other diamond on spadeK. If, on the other hand, East had turned up with diamondA, then the heart finesse is still there as a backup. Most players would instinctively get this one right, but what if North had made an ill-judged leap to 6NT - is there a way home?
