East must have heartK, so win the club in dummy and lead heartQ to force a cover. West wins the next heart with the jack and switches to a diamond (best), so you hop up with diamondA and draw two more rounds of trumps.

What does East throw? He can spare one spade, but the next trump is distinctly embarrassing for him, forcing a discard which will enable North to establish a tenth winner. To bare spadeQ allows three spade tricks for declarer, whereas a minor suit card means that either clubK will drop under the ace or a diamond can be established by ruffing.
