If you led a low club from dummy with the intention of returning to dummy with diamondK for a second club finesse then you might come unstuck. Much better is to lead clubQ from dummy and, when South plays low, unblock the ten or jack. Now you are still conveniently in dummy to repeat the club finesse, with the vital club5 is your passport to further club enrichment. It was an imaginative ploy by South to duck at trick one - to win and continue diamonds would certainly have concentrated West's mind wonderfully.
