then all should be OK - in that you will play in spades, but at the table might you not have flirted with the idea of bidding 3NT? You can see how partner was stuck over 3 - a horrible dilemma. If you had decided on 3 then no doubt South would have raised to 4, but unfortunately you are going to be asked to play 3NT on the lead of K - the actual contract and lead when the hand occurred at the table. You win A ...and then?
