This hand would be ideal for the Baron 2NT treatment - showing 16+ points and a balanced hand, but I doubt whether many Strong No Trumpers would play 2NT this way. When the deal first appeared in print many years ago the North-South pair were certainly not playing Baron, and South bid a good, old-fashioned 3NT which North was delighted to Pass.
