At the table South won with spadeA and played a heart to the ace - thus conceding two trump tricks to West. Minus 100. When I saw this hand it reminded me of the classic "book" hand where, holding KQx of trumps, you have to lead a pseudo singleton into the jaws of dummy's side-suit length & strength. This is to persuade declarer to play for the drop in trumps rather than take a double finesse. Maybe the West's clubA had exactly that effect - a classic Greek gift. .. You can see what would have happened by the "normal" events at the other table.
