It would be interesting to see the expert commentsa from a Bidding Challenge poll on the merits of a pseudo-scientific 1diamond, a splinter of either 3heart/3spade or a bounce in clubs. My own personal vote would definitely be for 5club - what about yours? At the table East took a deliberately understated approach with 3club - it seemed to do the trick!
