After throwing his diamond loser on heartQ, a club was ruffed low and spade9 played. Not expecting declarer's trumps to be spadeJxxx, West did not continue with another heart after winning spadeK but cashed spadeA too and ten tricks duly rolled in. A triumphant North thought this was the last board - he been honourably ethical and yet the winning margin had been achieved .. or so he thought. Unfortunately another board was still lurking, and after the opposition bid a laydown game they took the match by 150. Sometimes "virtue" must be its own reward.
