. . . but before we look at today's deal, cast your mind back to Saturday 23rd, when this was the deal. I am indebted to the eagle eye of Dick Pathan, who spotted an important omission in my analysis of the deal. You may remember that declarer had won the opening trump in 6spade, drawn the remaining trump, eliminated clubs in three rounds and exited with a small heart to the ace and king. Declarer ruffed the low heart exit and ran the trumps to squeeze North in the red suits....
