Assuming that you won't be playing a Roman 2diamond, which would show either 4-4-4-1 or 5-4-4-0, and a hand in the range 17-24, you will have all the usual associated difficulties with this shape.

By the time you have bid two suits partner will think you have at least five of the first, and he'll probably have problems believing that you have a third suit - if you ever have the opportunity to bid it.

In the play, 4-4-4-1 hands are notoriously difficult to develop unless partner has a big fit for one of your three suits. All in all, you have to be careful not to get carried away with them!
