. . . to get this one wrong. Yes, having started on the clubs you really have no choice to continue. East's maddeningly solid trumps mean there is no late entry to the clubs so this contract has no chance of making as long as you do not switch to a heart early on. It was partner's diamond3 at trick two that pointed to the way to enlightenment, trying to dissuade you from a heart swicth.

At one table West passed over 2spade - do you agree with his decision (no result merchants please!) Needless to say East made ten tricks as North-South attempted to defeat the contract.
