I must lead a sad and sheltered life, because Wednesday night was my first encounter with one of those "duplimating" machines. It was a revelation to see the cards stacked up several packs high and the 13-card hands spewed in less time than it takes me to say No Bid. The hands produced were certainly interesting, although I suspect that the dealing algorithm used is one of the gentler ones, for there were no fourteen card suits. Today's hand produced a swing, but just how big a swing, I'm not going to tell you. (with apologies to Monty Python)
