If you did not lead spade9 originally, now would be a good time. Partner should now be able to judge that you do not have a singleton and will duck. This makes it easy for her to win the next spade and give you a trump promotion when you're in with the next heart. Even if she wins the first spade and plays another, you will the opportunity to put her in with diamondA.

At the table West just limply plugged away with clubs, so South eventually drew trumps and played spadeQ. East had to duck, so now South switched to diamonds, making nine tricks in all.
