. . . so, you play the ace then king of spades, and ruff a club. Bad news - East shows out. You now try the ace of diamonds, then the queen. Something called "Table Presence" is supposed to tell you whether or not East has the king when he follows with a low card. Lacking this quality, you ruff the diamond. When you lead the club8, West follows with the jack, so you ruff, with dummy's last trump, and something horrible begins to dawn on you...
