The only lead to beat this contract is a spade. To preserve dummy's outside entry North has to win in hand and play a diamond at trick two. West wins the second diamond and plays another spade, killing declarer's communications in the process. Forced to run the diamonds or abandon them, declarer eventually succumbs to a suicide squeeze. In practice the spade at trick one was impossible to find and a club lead severed the defensive communications. 3NT made ten tricks when East threw a spade - plus 630 to North-South.
