At other tables North did not double and the result usually depended on declarer's spade/diamond at trick two. A trump finesse lost to the queen and the diamond devotees were tapped with more diamonds. There was still time to play a spade to the king but several declarers cashed heartA. Calamity! There was now not enough time to finesse against club10, throw a spade on clubK and eventually establish a fourth spade, for a vital entry to hand had gone. 4heart finished one off.
