I am informed by someone who knows about these things that, deprived of a late entry to dummy, it is best to play simply for clubKx or clubQx onside, leading low from dummy at trick four. This line is better than playing clubJ at trick two, which gains only when East has club9x. One really zany possibility would be to play low at trick one, hoping for a switch at trick two. If they don't swallow the bait and continue with another diamond then you'll have to biff trumps and hope for a highly improbable black suit squeeze or spadeJ10x! It would be your lucky day because East is indeed in sole control of the black suits.

Our Strong Club friends got the job done when South supported hearts below the game level and East .. Led a club!
